My website has just undergone major changes. Nothing but the home page, smartamusement.com and the musings are at the same link as they were two hours ago. Everything is still "out there" somewhere. I recommend that you go to the tag cloud if you are looking for something.

The tag cloud is partially color coded by subject. Running articles, including race write -ups, my training log, and more, are in brown. Things I would like to see, hear, or read are in green. PHP and php game resources are in red. It isn't much, but hopefully I'll add more later.

The best way to use the tag cloud is to search for a keyword or title. Just open the tag cloud page and type "f" while holding control, then release. This is a shortcut for "find", which works in fire fox, internet explorer, microsoft word, and almost everywhere else. It is very useful. After you bring up find, type in what you are searching for and press enter, and find will highlight the first match it, well, finds.

If you find any bugs, please notify me by email. My email can be found at the bottom of any of my webpages. Don't tell me about the bug with the links following "Other tags this item is listed under include:". I'm aware of that bug and will fix it in a few days.

So, what do you, the reader, get out of this update? Besides the inconvenience of having to search for links that I moved, not much. I guess you will notice much shorter links too.

Mainly this update fixes issues behind the scenes. By eliminating redundancy, the database size has been reduced by about a factor of three. Also, the code has been broken into a lot more functions and I'm utilizing more object-oriented programming practices.

In the long run, I will be able to make more updates quicker with this new system. I will also create subject matter tag clouds. For example, a tag cloud with only running related tags, and much more. That's all coming eventually. For now, I'm just glad this update went relatively smoothly.
